Every college or university has different procedures for joining sororities, so your first contact should be the Panhellenic or Sorority/Fraternity Life Office on your campus. Go to the website of the university you are attending and find the link to the Sorority/Fraternity Life Office. Often, there will be information on how to sign up for sorority recruitment. If the website doesn’t provide that information, there should be a phone number or email address to contact the office!

    Primary Recruitment vs. COB

Primary recruitment is the period during academic years when events are held by each sorority for the purpose of selecting new members. These primary recruitment events are organized by each individual college’s Panhellenic.

Continuous Open Bidding (COB) is a different type of recruitment event meant to gain new members that usually happens after the primary recruitment Bid Day and throughout the academic year. COB events tend to be less formal and structured; some might be coffee dates, movie nights, dinner together, etc.! The COB process is not structured by the College Panhellenic, and only chapters with available spaces are eligible to participate in COB. If COB sounds like something you’d be interested in, stay updated with the sororities on your campus throughout the year!

Hear it from our members

"Joining KD turned out to be the best decision I ever made."“One year ago, I was anxious about starting college in a new city with strangers. However, joining KD turned out to be the best decision I ever made. Through genuine conversations, I found love and comfort, forming authentic friendships and a strong sisterhood. I feel blessed to be surrounded by amazing, hardworking, bright, confident, warm and support women who inspire me to grow and become a better version of myself."– Irene, University of Texas at Austin
"I knew that feeling of love and genuine sisterhood was something so special."“From the moment I met these girls, I knew exactly where I belonged! I knew that feeling of love and genuine sisterhood was something so special to Kappa Delta. After getting a deeper look into our philanthropies, PCA America and working with the Girl Scouts, I was sold! There is no doubt in my mind, I knew I had found my forever home with my sweet sisters!”– Ally, University of North Carolina at Pembroke
"I’m so thankful for everything KD has brought me."“KD has been more than just a home to me. It’s been a place that inspires me, lifts me up, and empowers me to be the best I can be. I never expected much from joining a sorority, but I now have people who I know will be my lifelong friends. I’m so thankful for everything KD has brought me and I will cherish these memories forever.”– Megan, University of Florida
"Choosing KD is the reason I’ve found the forever friends."“Coming through recruitment as an out of state freshman, I was looking for a place that made me feel wanted for me, loved by all, and a place that truly felt like a home away from home. As a junior, I can still look back on my past 3 years with confidence knowing that choosing KD is the reason I’ve found the forever friends I prayed to find during college.”– Delaney, University of Mississippi
"I always feel like I can be true to myself."“Kappa Delta gifted me with a group of empowering women who are role models and push each other to be the best versions of themselves. I have found so much joy and happiness within our sisterhood and I always feel like I can be true to myself.”– Sarah, University of California San Diego
"I wouldn’t have any of this confidence without KD."“As being someone who is African American, recruitment was hard for me to push myself to dol. I felt as if the stereotypes of sororities clouded my confidence in myself and in my skin tone, but as I went through, I felt proud to be who I am and proud of my skin tone, and in the end, I would make the same choice over and over again. I wouldn’t have any of this confidence without KD and I'm so happy to be part of an organization that has made me become who I am today.”– Sylvia, University of Kentucky
"Joining KD was the best decision I have ever made."“I grew up without any sisters, and I don’t come from a family who has experience with Greek Life. That being said, joining KD was the best decision I have ever made. One of the things that stood out to me during recruitment was the support that girls in KD gave one another. After joining KD, I experienced that same selfless support I observed during recruitment, and I knew I would always have people in my corner. I am beyond blessed to be able to call KD, and all of the people within it, my home.”– Lizzie, University of Georgia
"Kappa Delta has shown me what steadfast love and intentionality is."“I can confidently say that going KD was one of the best decisions I have made coming into college! From the moment I walked into KD, I could feel the instant love and passion these girls had for each other and what they do as Panhellenic women. I felt cared for and valued through each conversation I had during recruitment and those feelings have only grown since Bid Day. Kappa Delta has shown me what steadfast love and intentionality is, and has given me women I can only hope to be like one day.”– Hayv, Texas A&M University
"I am so grateful to be a part of something so special.”“One of my favorite memories of becoming a KD was seeing my mom’s and aunt’s reaction when they found out we would share AOT together. KD connects women through shared love for each other, love for our philanthropies, and love for Kappa Delta. I am so grateful to be a part of something so special.”– Lauren, Western Kentucky University
"I’m constantly surrounded by girls who push me to be the best version of myself."“When going through recruitment, I wanted to find sisters who pulled me out of my comfort zone and who I could be myself around. I never imagined that KD could give me so much more than that. Being apart of KD has become such a big part of my life. I’m constantly surrounded by girls who push me to be the best version of myself and support me through it all. I’ve found my best friends, thanks to Kappa Delta.”– McKenna, University of West Georgia
“I went Kappa Delta because of how welcomed and understood I felt."“I went Kappa Delta because of how welcomed and understood I felt from the first day of recruitment by every girl I spoke to. Not only were they genuine and kind, but they were passionate, motivated, and dedicated women that wanted the best for themselves and their futures, as well as to see the rest of their sisters grow around them. I felt so inspired by the girls I spoke to, and I knew that they would help foster an environment where I could thrive in my friendships as well as in my future goals.”– Isabella, Sacred Heart University
"I wouldn’t have grown into the person I am without this sisterhood.""KD has given me a sense of belonging I had really always searched for and wanted throughout high school. I feel like I am finally part of something, surrounded by people who I know want nothing but the best for me! I’m forever grateful to KD for the countless memories, lifelong friendships, and a true example of what genuine sisterhood really is. I wouldn’t have grown into the person I am without this sisterhood or the girls in it!"– Natalie, Oklahoma State University
